After the Rain

Rain arrived just as the vehicle reached Punda Kopjes. For the next two hours, the storm swept across the plains of Namiri, turning the granite dark and leaving the landscape silent beneath heavy clouds. Then, almost as suddenly as it had begun, the rain stopped.

As the light broke through, the pride became active again. The male climbed to the highest point of the kopje, instinctively surveying the surrounding plains and checking the position of the rest of his family. Moments later, almost unnoticed, a lioness slowly lifted her head from below the rocks, completing a scene that lasted only a few minutes before the light changed once again.
