The Lion King

This portrait of Osupaat has become far more than a photograph to me.

Although I would meet him again years later, this was our first encounter.

Looking back, it also marks the moment I truly discovered my passion for fine art wildlife photography. At the time, I didn’t realise the potential of what was unfolding before me. I captured only a handful of frames, unaware of how powerful the low perspective, the soft light and the extraordinary dynamic range of my camera would become once interpreted in black and white. Today, faced with the same scene, I would probably keep shooting until the battery ran out.

Yet one of those few images became The Lion King—the photograph that changed the way I see, and photograph, the wild.

Limited Edition Standards

All works are produced as archival pigment prints to museum standards.
Each print is personally reviewed and approved by me before release.
All prints are issued in strictly limited editions (from 5 to 15) and are signed and numbered.
Once an edition is sold out, it is never reprinted.
Each photograph is offered in different sizes depending on the work.
Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
The works presented in the shop are a curated selection.
