A Grevy’s zebra in Laikipia, Kenya. The largest of all zebra species, and perhaps the most striking, with its narrow, perfectly defined stripes.
What at first appears to be a single animal is in fact two zebras standing so close together that their bodies become almost impossible to separate. The stripes of one continue into those of the other, creating an illusion in which shape, pattern and perspective merge.
For a few seconds, nature turned two animals into one.
