Akira

We found Akira asleep high in the branches of a tree during the final hours of the afternoon. Rather than moving on, we decided to wait.

For a long time, nothing happened. Then, as the last rays of sunlight filtered through the canopy, she slowly opened her eyes and lifted her head, taking in the world around her before the day faded into night. The encounter lasted only a few moments, but they were enough.

Sometimes wildlife photography is not about chasing the next sighting—it is about waiting, trusting that patience will eventually be rewarded.
