King on the Kopje

By the end of a long morning game drive, the temptation to head back to camp was growing stronger. High above the plains, the same male lion rested motionless on a granite kopje, seemingly uninterested in everything around him. Minutes passed without the slightest movement.

Experience suggested otherwise. Lions rarely remain still forever, and the kopjes are more than resting places—they are natural observation points from which they constantly monitor their territory.

Just before leaving, the lion slowly lifted his head and looked across the Serengeti. For a brief moment, the landscape, the light and his unmistakable profile came together exactly as they had been imagined.

Wildlife photography is often a lesson in patience. The image does not arrive when the photographer is ready—it arrives when the animal decides.

Each print is personally reviewed and approved by me before release.
All prints are issued in strictly limited editions (from 5 to 15) and are signed and numbered.
Once an edition is sold out, it is never reprinted.

Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
