A close portrait of Osupaat, the dominant male of Olare Motorogi Conservancy, in Maasai Mara.
His face tells much of his story: the marks of age, the traces of countless encounters and, above all, the unmistakable scar beside his left eye.
I first photographed him in 2022, and when I found him again four years later, that scar was the first thing I recognised.
Older, his face more marked by time, but with the same extraordinary gaze and presence.
