The Herd and the Clouds

Morning after morning, elephant families cross Amboseli’s dry lake bed on their way to the swamps that sustain them throughout the day. As the first herds began to appear, the sky slowly transformed. Clouds gathered above the plains, growing larger and more sculpted with every passing minute until they became as much a part of the scene as the elephants themselves.

Photographed from ground level, the low perspective emphasises the scale of both the landscape and the sky. Below, the herd continues its ancient journey across the lake bed. Above, the constantly changing clouds remind us that no two mornings in Amboseli are ever the same. For a brief moment, land, wildlife and atmosphere came together in perfect balance.

All works are produced as archival pigment prints to museum standards.
Each print is personally reviewed and approved by me before release.
All prints are issued in strictly limited editions (from 5 to 15) and are signed and numbered.
Once an edition is sold out, it is never reprinted.
Each photograph is offered in different sizes depending on the work.
Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
The works presented in the shop are a curated selection.
